Hi I need help on this question. I have the answer from an answer key but I have no idea how to do the math.
The question is:
One hundred gallons of a 60% acid solution are obtained by mixing a 75% solution with a 50% solution. How many gallons of each must be used to obtain the desired mixture?
... The answer is:
40 gal of 75% solution, 60 gal of 50% solution.
Please tell me how to do the work and arrive at this conclusion. Thanks!
