I program my number 1 button of my mobile phone to my most frequently dialed number i.e. my office tel.

This is because I hardly use the voicemail feature.

It makes my life easier cos all i have to do is just to press and hold the number 1 button to dial my office.

Most people thought that this button is only for voicemail.

I hope you can share how you use your mobile phone to make your life easier too.

112 is another good number to remember.

This is the International Emergency Number for GSM phones.

So if you are in a foreign country with GSM network and you do not know the local emergency number, this is the number to call for emergency help.

In some countries, this number is connected to the local emergency number.

Something interesting to know is that even if your phone is locked, it can still call this emergency number.

Someone even told me that you can call this number even without the sim card !

I know that this works in most countries with GSM network.
However, I am not sure if it works in all countries with GSM networks.

Last but not least, do not call this number unless there is a real emergency !

It might save your life or someone else's life in an emergency.
 
Buttons 2 to 9 of your keypad can also be programmed to dial your favourite numbers.

This feature is called Speed Dial and is different from the feature mentioned in my first post.

However, the Speed Dial feature is not turned on by default. You need to manually turn it on in order to be able to use this feature.

After that, you can program any numbers you like to buttons 2 to 9.

Please make sure you program them in a sequence that you can remember.

For example :

Father program to button number 2
Mother to 3
Eldest son to 4

and so on and so forth

Try to devise your own way to remember.

Now you have 9 buttons that will call any of your favourite numbers just at the press of one key.
 
Another useful tip is this :

Do create a new folder and name it whatever you want.

What for?

Move all the icons of those features that you frequently use into this folder.

Why should I do that?

It will save you a lot of time.

For me, I have a folder called Organize which contains the Clock, Calendar, Notes, Call Log, File Manager, etc.

This way, I do not have to scroll through so many menus to look for the icon I want.

Do it now!
 
This tip for travellers.

When I travel overseas on business trips, I use the Recorder function of my mobile to record common words in the foreign language of that country.

Common words like toilet, airport, etc. I always get my overseas colleague/partner to pronounce it and i record it.

If you are in a country e.g. Vietnam and you can't speak Vietnamese, you will find this very useful.

Just my 2 cents worth.
