I'm really worried because I'm on the last PPI to try and after three weeks, I still have breakthrough heartburn and have to take Zantac and rolaiRAB on top of it. It's so depressing, because I took the time when PPIs worked (for about 10 years) for granted. I thought they would always work for me, just had to switch them around. I'm wondering if it's something else now that is responsible for making my heartburn worse. I'm going to get an endoscopy really soon to rule out anything bad. Meanwhile I'm taking digestive enzymes and DGL licorice, hoping that something will take my heartburn away:( Anyone else in the same boat as I am? I would appreciate hearing your stories. Thanks!

Shrtcak,
I think you know I ended up in the same boat you are in without much luck. I just had to settle with the one that helped the most even though it didn't come close to taking care of my reflux.

From what I remeraber of your previous posts, you hadn't tried Zegrid. Have you talked to your doctor about trying it? From what I understand, it is the most recent on the market. It has the same active ingredient as Prilosec with an additional medicine to protect the stomach and facilitate the effectiveness of the active ingredient. It worked ok for me, but wasn't covered by insurance. I just tried the month of samples that my GI doc gave me.

i am also a acid reflux patient. i was on itopride 50 bd and nixium 20 bd. i was using it for the last one year. fearing reaction or liver or kedney damage i started nixum 40 once daily along with domperidon 30mg. i dont know if it works. can i take zantac 150 in the night. is it ok. what is PPI will you please elaborate. thanks.

I take Zantac 300mg every night before bed, as well as Prevacid 30mg twice daily. My gastro-doc recommended the addition of the Zantac. Greg
