Hey all,
I've been using PPI's now for about 3 years. My doctor told me at my most recent appointment that I will probably need a follow up endoscopy in about a year because of long term use of PPI's. He said the chances of benign polyps are good while on this kind of drug long term. Has anyone else had this happen? I'm worried now about it and have caused myself a big flare! My doctor wants me to try slowly weaning off and while doing so, use Zantac or Pepcid but I've been doing so well that it is hard to give up the stronger medication.
Does anyone have information about the polyps?
