power on utility

I have this neat little software called "offstroke" to turn my T3 off. I am looking for something a little similar to turn my T3 on. Any ideas?

Hi, Carol.

This may not be in reply to your post, but
I read in your "Essentials" post that you have PowerOn. And I learned here that you are using a T3.

I never got PowerOn to work on my T3. No matter how I program it, my T3 still turns on with one press of the power or hard key buttons (defeating its "accidental power-on purpose). Did it work for you?

Anyway, back to your querry, on what situations do you wish your T3 to turn on? I'm fond of trying new softwares that I come accross when browsing, and I may be able to suggest one if I know what you'll be needing it for.

Regards.

I know of NO software with a screen-stroke "on" command. Other than the regular buttons and being able to "change" the VOX RECORDER button (defeat or reconfigure,) there is no offstroke "onstroke."

Unfortunate - I think I can see why uou'd like it - reverse procedure of "offstroke" and close flip.

Open flip and turn on with stylus in hand, ready to go. Great idea - perhaps you can write the offstroke author and suggest it - if it's possible he could just make same app do 2 functions.

I have been messing with PowerOn and was reading about it. I just recently purchased it. I thought it was me, but I guess it is not. I can't get it to do anything except auto-dim. I feel better now to know that I it is just me. I am going to go to PalmGear and return it. Thank you for helping me find my sanity.

The T3 has many built in controls for power control. In Prefs you can specify that the T3 will Power On when the slide is opened and optionally power Off when it's closed.

You can also specify that the "Keylock" function work "Never/Automatic/Manual".

The keylock function prevents the T3 from being accidentally turned on by a button press. With Keylock active you can only turn on the T3 with the power button and then you need to tap the "deactivate keylock" button on the screen for it to remain on otherwise it turns off after about 1-2 seconds thereby reducing power usage by an inadvertent button press. This function is partially overridden by "Stay on in Cradle". You still need to press the power button but the screen will stay on until you either manually turn it off or press the deactivate keylock to use the T3.
