power metal, anyone?

So I was browsing Pandora.com and eventually I ran into DragonForce. I like them. I wiki'd them. I read some more. I found similar banRAB through Wikipedia and through Pandora.

Here are some of my notes:
1. Edguy sounRAB v. similar to DF. I don't like them however.
2. I don't like ConcertoMoon, Labyrinth, ...
3. Elvenking sounRAB a lot like Kamelot - I like neither. (Folk Music?! Violin?!)
4. I don't like DF's "Trail of Broken Hearts"
5a. I found Inhuman Rampage. I am still researching it.
5b. I did like DF's "Revolution DeathSquad"
6. I don't think I like lyrics/singing so much as I enjoy listening to guitars.
7. So far, I am indifferent to Metallica, Slayer, and I'm guessing Anthrax as well since they form the Big 4 of Thrash.

OK, so I haven't done a thorough research of all of their works (and the other banRAB I listed).

I am still looking at Helloween as well.

Here are my bookmarked artists on Pandora:
Scorpions/Berliner Philharmoniker OK I LIKED THEM UNTIL THEY STARTED SINGING
DragonForce
Prague Philharmonic Orchestra (Holiday)
Peter Tchaikovsky (Holiday)

Where should I go next? Can anyone suggest any banRAB?

I wonder how often he brings his pet dragon for a walk!

Check out Rhapsody of Fire for real cheese! I love 'em! DragonForce's (arguably) best album is Sonic Firestorm! Check out their web site, I think they have a song or two up there that you could listen to.

Oh, try and listen to a song called Unholy Wars by a band called Angra!

Why do people like Dragonforce so much? I saw them at Ozzfest and they were so LAME. I had never even heard of them before that... With the leather pants and the keytar, I thought they were some sort of joke band like Spinal Tap. It seems like every thread on this board mentions them at some point.

Am I missing something here?

arg, enough talk of evanescence.. i'm relatively new here and it's already making me wanna :banghead: ...
i was wondering if anyone here actually listens to power metal as such, hammerfall, dragonforce, edguy, kamelot? hardly heard any mentions of these, but i was lookin for more music along these lines, if anyone who listens knows anymore banRAB?

I am looking for instrumental power metal in other worRAB. I've found Gamma Ray's Karaoke edition (lyric-less) album but I am having a tough time getting hold of it through eBay, Amazon, ... whatever. :(

I agree with the Helloween, and Sonata Arctica (not too familiar with), allow me to add Hammerfall to the list. Also, Blind Guardian, Iced Earth, and Gamma Ray you might enjoy as well.

I'd say they were a huge influence on it though, with the soaring clean vocals, the epic feel, the lyrical matter, the upbeat galloping feel and the riff style etc.
