Power Commander 5 and Auto Tune Info

Mine is a 1gb mini or micro (forget which) in a standard SD adapter, which the LCD-200 should have no trouble reading. It can be read by my computer, Zumo, and phone but not the LCD-200, so I don't think it is defective.

You must have Auto-Tune installed to get the AFR display. AFR is shown as an option when "WB2 device 0" or "1" is selected on mine, but when displayed only shows 13.7 or occasionally 17.?. There's no way it's really at 17:1, as the bike wouldn't even run that lean and I think that's out of range for the WB O2 sensors.

They spent 30 min. on the phone with me and we did the remote-access routine like you described, but the support guy finally told me I'd have to send it in. When I received it back two weeks later nothing had changed.

I find it impossible to read most of the time in sunlight, not so bad in cloudy conditions.

I haven't tried the gear-position display. How do you set that up? I'm using one analog gauge for engine temp (also with digital readout inside the analog gauge) and three digital displays: TP and fuel adj. front and rear.
I'll use the throttle position to help me know what areas to lean out in my AFR tables for better cruise economy. If I decide to play with timing, the KNOCK reading will be of great benefit there.
What is this? There's nothing about this in the manual.

If it didn't have the CHT function I wouldn't find it very useful at all. That in itself is worth maybe $100 to me, and the three others I'm using maybe another $50--but it is not worth its $300 price tag to me.

I paid nothing and am borrowing this unit indefinitely from a friend, so I can't complain too much. If I had paid $300 I would be pissed, and I don't recommend this unit to anyone unless you just must have a readout on some of the functions it provides.

I'm going to call DJ Monday and get the ball rolling on trying to get this thing fixed again.

I don't think this is a viable feature, but I can't say for sure since I haven't tried it. I can't see trying to see that almost invisible display and using touch-screen while riding the bike. I am using a hardware switch with AT and I'm happy with the way this works, as all I need to do is flip a switch. I can't see a need for more than two maps.

Hey, Thanks Man. Your one comment:

shook me out of my stupor. I do have Auto Tune, I had just overlooked the WB0 and WB1 selection in the gauge setup.

I changed the useless Speedo and Tach gauges to WB0 AFR and WB1 AFR. Look at what I have now

Left gauge is for front cylinder, right for rear cylinder.
I also changed Fuel ADJ to WB2 Lambda so it displays for front cylinder.
I took a test ride to check things out, and the AFR readings are dynamic and appear to be accurate. Not only do the needles track the readings, the digital readout updates with them. Now I have instantaneous AFR readings while I am riding. NOW I AM ELATED.
YOU have GOT to get yours working, you’ll be amazed.

Maybe you need to adjust the LCD brightness. I have mine set on the highest setting and can read mine Okay. Not great in bright sunlight, but I can read it.

The setup is under device settings for PCV. Instructions are in the manual, page 11 and 12. You have to have Throttle Position and Speed setup before Gear will setup. I did my setup with the rear wheel off the ground, bike on a lift. I was going to attach a copy of the manual here, but it is too large, even zipped. You can download it form the Dynojet website:

LCD 200 English

The Harley ECM has a detonation detection sensor. (KNOCK). It is reported by the J1850 diagnostics readouts. It is not selectable from the PCV or Auto Tune for LCD readout, but is reported in the Data Logging. Look at columns AC and AD in the attached spreadsheet, which is a test Data Log I did this morning after setting up the AFR and Lambda readings. The AFR and Lambda is now in the Data log as well. Columns AE, AF, AG. AH.
I attached another Data Log from this mornings test. See bottom of post.

Don't take "on the Fly" quite so literally. I will definitely pull over and stop before changing maps. Three is probably Overkill, but can't hurt. What I plan to do is have 2 or 3 maps that have been optimized using Auto Tune and accepting trims. My understanding is the closer to ideal AFR tables your fuel tables are, the quicker the Auto Tune can obtain the desired settings, and the more efficient it will be. So, if my maps are already almost optimized and when I switch to one I keep Auto Tune active, I should have the best of both worlds. I don't see the need to have an "OH CRAP, I need to swap maps immediately" panic moment. Pulling over to a stop to change maps should be just fine.

I think the LCD you are using is definitely broke. I have had no trouble with mine and am now VERY happy to have it. I believe if you get a properly working one, you will see the advantages as well. I just HOPE mine continues to Function without problems.
