Power Commander 5 and Auto Tune Info

Yep, mine is an '07 and I couldn't see the inversion until I installed a Thundermax and wideband 02 sensors....the rear sensor would read very high 02 at all but wide open throttle when running low restriction slipons or drags.

If you are running a PCIII or PCV open loop, the 02 sensors are disconnected so who cares?....But if you are running a closed loop autotune, then it becomes an issue because the Fueler is reading misinformation from the rear sensor.

I had this very problem when I installed the AT using stock head pipes and Rush mufflers with 2" baffles. At idle or just above, the rear cylinder AFR wasn't stable, jumping from 12 to 25 while the front cylinder was steady. The problem went away after installing Jackpot asymetrical baffles in my Rush cans.

I don't know if Jamies Jackpots are like his tuned Rush slipon's but if they are the left side is choked down considerably and acts more like a 2 into 1 where the left side has lots of backpressure compared to the right.....If that's the case, then there should be no reversion problems with stock head pipes when using his Jackpots with autotune.

Jamie makes a great "power package" where he offers tuned exhaust, fueler(PCIII or PCV or Thundermax) A/C and exhaust all together in one simple and not too expensive package. If you order it as a package the fueler will be preprogramed with a base map that is really close. If you include autotune in the package at the start, then you won't have any issues at all.

If instead you order just the fueler, then you need to discuss it with him and describe your exhaust and A/C so he can select the best base map.

The fact remains, if you are running really low restriction exhaust with stock head pipes, you will most likely experience an error when reading the rear 02 sensor in autotune/closed loop. For you guys with cats incorporated in the head pipes, there won't be that particular problem no matter how unrestricted your slipons.

To make things really insteresting, in the future expect to see another 02 sensor soon in the pipe located AFTER the cats.....That sensor will prevent you drilling out the cats...Well, it will prevent it until guys like Jame come up with a fix

Is this only an issue at idle or do you see or feel symptoms at operating speeds?

I have some custom made stock slip ons - I work for the company that builds all stock Harley mufflers. The guys at the plant made me some 'gutless wonders' which only have a perf tube at the exit.

I don't remember any issues at idle on the AT display.

Anything above idle was okay, the rear cylinder real time AFR mirrored the front cylinder. At idle the RT AFR on the rear cylinder was extremely erratic.
Before swapping out the baffles, I tired restricting the left muffler while the bike was idling in the garage, watching the RT AFR on the computer. Just by restricting the baffle just a small amount the problem went away.

Not to add to the mix but for some reason the AT wants to add 20s to the the AFR (max change default) at the low throttle postions at about 3k rpms. You can't get those RPMs with such low throttle input so I'm thinking it's occurring on decel. Any thoughts?

If you are getting these values I would recommend updating your firmware. The newer firmware had updated logic in regards to the decel area.

I was getting the inversion problem both at idle and when cruising at legal hwy speeds.

Admittly, when the problem occured I was running Sampson fishtails which are unbaffled. When I connected to my laptop, it appeared the rear 02 sensor was bad, so I replaced it only to discover the new sensor was also readin 20% at idle...From there I racked the throttle and watched the rear sensor read properly, then again read high when throttle was held at cruise RPM's. So i knew my problem was from inversion due to crossover and low restriction.

My "fix" was to purchase a pair of lollipops and try those.....But that led to needing a dyno tune, so instead, I installed V&H dresser true duals.

I have 0.1.2 (Build 3) like I've had for months. There is a 0.1.3 on the PC site, which I don't think is new, but I recall you saying the change didn't affect HD's and there was no need to upgrade. Should I keep what I have?

I have e-mailed you a coupple of times and im getting ready to buy the PC-V..I just wanna make sure that you have a map for my set up?
