Power Commander 5 and Auto Tune Info

I have one, it worked ok to remove the front one. but it wasn't deep enough for the new sensor. On my '08 there isn't any way to get a socket on the rear one, the tip of the sensor just barely clear the motor case, even then you have to bend the wire at a 90

+1 The 08 rear sensor leaves no room for a socket or wrench. The crows foot, 7/8 is what worked for me. There is so little room on the rear sensor, getting the new (longer) fuelmoto sensor in was challenging.

I installed last night. Rode today, and the trim values show 0. The 2 extra parts I had last night were evidently the termination plugs. I then found that I forgot to connect the autotune to the power commander, leaving me with 2 open ports on the autotune modules. I connected the one port to the power commander and the other I installed a terminator. My AFR readings when the bike is running are 9.99. I confirmed that the autotune is enabled in the power commander.

Any thoughts?

The '08's must be different than '07's, as I didn't have any trouble at all either removing the old or installing the new sensors, even the rear.

It will show "99.9" when the sensor is warming up, but after about one minute it should start displaying AFR numbers. If not, double-check your wiring, as AT isn't a plug-and-play device like the basic PCV is and you can do it wrong. Ask me how I know that. Hint: I also didn't install the terminator at first.

I sliced a quarter inch section from a boxed end wrench using a dremel. It's basically a 12 point line wrench now. It worked fine for removing and installing the O2 sensors.

Hey guys, If anyone has any help.... Here is what I did.

When I realized I didn't connect the Auto Tune to the PCV and terminate the Auto tune. I did that and warmed the bike to 185 degrees. The AFR was still showing 9.99. I then swapped the connectors on the PCV. Still reads 999 at 185 degrees. I then swapped the terminator on the auto tune modules and it still reads 9.99. I checked the connections, they don't seem to snap in, but appear to be tight.

Any ideas? If not, I will wait for Jamie on Monday.

In the instructions there is a diagram of the AT wiring, so using it as a guide check everything once again. Also, the small holes that are designed for push-in wires have a thin membrane that is hard to puncture unless you have a firm end on the wires. Make sure each wire has punctured this membrane and is seated properly. I used a paperclip to puncture the membrane first, then inserted the wires, as one or two of mine didn't want to go all the way in.

If memory serves, you connect one of the Autotune modules to the PCV then connect that AT module to the other AT module and use the termination plug in the remaining socket. Oh.. and don't forget to plug the connector to the diagnostic plug under the left side cover
