Analyze the influence of traditional Chinese philosophies in society,culture and law under the tang dynasty.

source 1: The Tang Law Code; early 17th century, Book 1,excerpts--------(Confucianism)

The first s called plotting rebellion.
Subcommentary: The ruler of parents has no harborers (of plots). If he does have such harborers, he must put them to death. This means that if there are those who harbor rebellious hearts that would harm the ruler or the father, he must then put them to death.
The king occupies the most honorable position and receives Heaven's precious decrees....As his children, as his subjects, they must be loyal and filial...

The seventh is called lack of filiality.
Subcommentary: Serving one's parents well is called filiality. Disobeying them is called lack of filiality.

(Thesis)- First document states to the aspect followed by believers of Confucianism. According to the Tang dynasty law code, the king occupies the most honorable position held and that the people must be loyal to the ruler of the household and the kings. If anyone misbehaves or disobeys the householder or the kings he must be put to death. Because it is a law code people during the early seventh century were to follow it.

Source 2: After Passing the Examination by Po Chu-I (Chinese Poet, 772-846)-------(Confucianism)

For ten years I never left my books,
I went up... and won unmerited praise.
My high place I do not much prize;
The joy of my parents will firs make me proud;
Fellow students, six or seven men,
See me off as I leave the City gate.
My covered coach is ready to drive away;
Flutes and strings blend their parting tune.
Hopes achieved dull the pains of parting;
Fumes of wine shorten the long road...
Shod with the wings is the horse of him who rides
On a Spring day the road that leads to home.

(Thesis)- Document number 2 states the importance of culture in the beliefs of Confucianism. Education and passing the examination was a very important aspect to their culture. Another aspect was the joy that was received by the examiner, it was not a tangible prize but it was the proud felt by the parents. "I do not much prize, the joy of my parents will first make me proud".
