There are 2 types of pouring problems which are interesting to Mathematicians:

1. If you have 2 jugs (each with a different whole number of litres capacity, and not calibrated in any way) and an unlimited amount of water, which whole numbers of litres are you able to measure, and how can you get them?

2. If you have 3 or 4 jugs (again each with a different whole number of litres capacity, and not calibrated in any way) with the largest jug having capacity which is a multiple of 3 and being full of water (no other water available), can you divide the water into 3 equal parts, and how do you do it?
