potential ownage, iPhone won't work with many Corporate email systems

I hope to god that 15 year olds don't make it the next sidekick. 500/600 dollar phone in a 15 year olds hands is a stupid idea, assuming they can afford it.

The number of users has nothing to do with it. The high turnover rates, poor customer service, improper billing practices, and inferior data technology, however speak louder than my personal opinion. An opinion learned the hard way, as a former AT&T wireless customer. I would take Verizon or Sprint/Nextel over AT&T/Cingular anyday.

.

my dad owns a financial advisory firm that does stocks/bonds/retirement/anything financial for people who are worth millions, and he would never own an iphone because it can not be used to manage accounts, check e-mail, or do anything productive. when he was considering an upgrade from his verizon pda, he did not even consider the iphone because the new trio kicks the shit out of it.

they showed a demo app that ran through a business intraweb through safari that dialed and sent email internally on the phone and it was made to look like a regular native app on the iphone.

yeah, they don't have similar issues

sprint/nextel? travel out of a major city much? try no coverage.

i've had cingular for 6 years and only once had a issue which was resolved.

You know, the iPhone might have peaked a little interest in me, if it was using EVDO insted of EDGE. The rest of the problems will either be fixed with updates or hacked around, but you can't really fix the problem with the service provider.

I like watching cell phone / PDA device releases. I'm still looking at the treo 750 sitting at $80 on Amazon and waiting for it to drop even cheaper. People were shelling out $300+ for those things just months ago.

This is going to be the same way. Huge inital rush. Super cheap with a service contract within the next year.

You'll probably make more money camping out the iphone release than the PS3 release, though.

I've had Nextel for years as my own carrier and had to carry a Nextel on me when I worked for the government. It worked in EVERY city I went to, with very few problems, even in shitty little hick towns like Chikasha (sp) Oklahoma, and here in the DC/Balt region service is flawless.

no phone elitist on OT will. thats for sure it's not meant to replace crack berries. it's really for a whole new market in general. people who want pda phones but not for corporate use. so it's got a ton of stuff for personal use and less on the corporate side

not everyone is a dick like you

that has what to do with anything? no one said its going to be 100% owned. fuck if apple gets 1% market share they will be thrilled
