Ok, I have finally said i'm done with Starchoice.
I am considering the switch to Bell, i just hope this decison doesn't bite me in the A$$..

Here is my setup:
I just built a new house and ran Cat6 wire everywhere, giving me the freedom to run the recievers from central spot with each room wired for multilpe HDMI, or component outputs. I have a 4X8 Multi switch, so i have lots of sat in.
I currently run 4 recievers with starchoice. Running 6 tv's in the house. 2 are PVR's. I liked starchoice because of there UHF remotes but just but there recievers are just too old to comptete with Bell.

So i would liek to know from you fellow Bell owneres the recivers i should buy. I would like to record on all TV's but only 2 need the Dual tuners. Also with starchoice i run one tv off DVI and 1 off Component in two tvs that usually aren't being watched at the same time so its not a big deal that they watch the same channels.. ie. bedroom, is connected with theatre room, etc..

I also have real no need for SD tv, so the one Bell reciver that offers a a second tuner for SD doesn't interest me at all.

I was thinking of getting 1 Dual tuner HD(can't remember the reciever number) and 3 of the siongle tuners(and add external HD) as long as i can run two tv's still from 1 recievers.

Also how have the UHF remotes been with the Bell , good range??

Also as far as programming is $100 pretty much going to get every channel like Starchoice??

Any other recomendations..???

Thanks everyone..

I had SC, and switched to Bell last year, I have the 9242 HDPVR with UHF remote, it is simply amazing in my opinion, the guide is very quick, PVR portion works very smooth, i have never had the remote go out of range. It has brought my TV watching to a whole new experience. I had a few installer problems, but its hard to say if its a Bell problem, or installer problem, they are not bell employees.

I find my monthly bills to be confusing and especially the first few months, I kept getting billed for a supposidly free magazine, having to call every single month for a 2 dollar credit.

I also was told over the phone that certain channels were free previews, such as the movie network, only to get my bill and noticed I was charged for the movie network, and then when I call back to have the CSR have no knowledge of a free trial.

Aside from all that, I think Bell is the best way to go, especially with the olympics in 2010, we should get awesome coverage for that.

Just my 2 cents

When you said you ran CAT 6 to everyroom, I assume you meant RG 6?
The Dual tuner 9242 model receiver will require 2 RG 6 feeds to the location, do you have that?
If not, it still can be done, but you will have to purchase the hardware (DisProPlus LNBs' multiswithes, splitter, etc...)
Have a look in the installation forum of BellTV, they have every diagram you can think of in there, and it will let you see the different options you have.
I'm not sure, but think the single tuner HD boxes got rid of the UHF remotes (I don't know why???)
So it may be in your best interest to buy the dual tuners, as they have UHF remote capabilities...
If you are a new customer, receivers are 50% off (or so the ad in the paper said on the weekend)
The price of adding external HD's (under $100) makes it almost bearable to buy the 9242 instead of the 6141 (you add the HDD) as the price becomes comparable considering you will get a HDD in the 9242, and can always upgrade later if you want.

Actually it is Cat6 that you make into RG6 if you want, or HDMI, or Component, or Composite. You run it so you have the option of future proofing you house, or so they tell me.. not cheap though..

So can i use the SC multiswitch i currently have connected? or do i need an Bell brand one???

So no UHF with the single tuner reciever eh? Too bad, i hate having recievers by the tv.. might have to look at rf repeaters..

Thanks..

What no mulit switch?? So how many lines can come off the Dish?
Does the multi tuner recievers need 1 or 2 coax?

So how do you add more recivers?????????
