Now that McMcain is focusing on the economy, which is really needed. What happens to the elections? Will Obama win by default? How do they handle this, if Obama doesn't want to postpone the election for a area that needs much more attention?
Wow, thanks for the answers.

I work all day and it is difficult to follow the many changes in the news. In addition, I am Canadian living in the US and thankful :-) I am just concerned for a beautiful country that is suffering now.

Because I can't vote, I don't mind sharing my views. McCain seems to be better as he is a patriotic US Veteran that cares about his country. I'm afraid of a candidate (Obama) that seems to care about his own elections. In addition as an accountant, I know raising taxes to the rich, the rich will just increase the price of goods and the middle class will suffer with higher prices. This makes me not comfortable.

WHY CAN'T MCCAIN DO BOTH ?
OBAMA SAID HE WOULD GO TO DC IF CALLED AND HE IS NEEDED.
HE DOES NOT SEEM TO MIND HANDLING BOTH THE DEBATE AND CONGRESS.
MCCAIN SEEMS THAT HE CANNOT HANDLE DOING BOTH. What a hero mccain is NOT

The candidates have the right to postpone (or evade) the debate, as the McCain is doing. As far as the election, it appears that this can only be postponed by Congress, so that is pretty unlikely. Although based on what Bush has done in the past, he could try to illegally postpone it if he thinks it will help him or McCain.

hmm. Lets postpone everything! How about we let Bush be president until this is all over?

McCain is not wanting to postpone the election, he just wants to postpone the debate so he doesnt make a fool of himself. There is no need to postpone the debate.

Please wake up. You are listening to too many people that do not have a clue and just spout off what ever they hear last. This is a debate, and it can happen anytime. Obama wants a day off work, that is why he doesn't want to delay, it is an excuse not to vote "Present" so he has to not support either side of the issue. It is the job he is paid top do, set in the senate. Remember, McCain went to work for you, obama wants to party.

Been to ever circuit, and y'all saying the same thing: McCain is running from the Polls, McCain is protecting Palin, McCain is not honest. The INTERNET is on fire y'all!!!

The elections will still go ahead. Only in a Liberal, drug induced dream will Obama win by "default". Obama wants to keep the public in the clouds by chanting "change" and "hope". Well, let's see how far "hope" will get us. Let's all "change" in Nov. McCain/Palin '08

When yo boy is scared, he is just scared. He is even showing everybody that he is a 3rd term Bush. What I am afraid of is that Obama will go to the meeting with BUSH ^& McCAIN and they are going to pick his brain and then, try & pick him to pieces. The reason why, because between the 2 of them they don't even have a brain to pick.

It is a sad thing when this is the best anyone can come up with to excuse McCain's unacceptable behavior in wanting to postpone the presidential debate. This economy did not just implode overnight and if McCain has such a sense of urgency about this,he has had 20+ years as a US Senator to do something about it.All of a sudden I am supposed to buy "Country First".If Country really is first,he needs to play by the rules that "country" has designed!
