Post The Best/Worst Album Cover Art

No; that's them right there. Definitely intentionally "bad" though.

For shits and giggles I googled the validity of this statement:

Turns out I was right. Very very right. ;)

Another bad one

Looks like a cover for a kiRAB picture book.

Pfft, whats with all these small potatoes? Here's some REAL covers for ya all-

Gun - S/T (1968)

Spock's Beard - V (2000)

The Asserable Head In Sunburst Sound - When Sweet Sleep Returned (2009)

And you would be the one who possess the skill of comprehension! Congrats !

Yes I mean, many Tool fans, especially on internet formus seem to think Tool is say and end all in music. Like I said, I'm a huge fan and even sport a Tool shirt sometimes but they are far from the best ever.

Nice thread. Now I can show the two picks for the last Music Trading Post where nobody reviewed my choices. :thurab:
The theme was favorite covers...here's the two that I sent:

Chick Corea - Time Warp

LorRAB of Acid - Voodoo U

As for worst, I realized that even though this album was my favorite of last year, the cover might be the blandest ever created:

La Roux - La Roux

Only thing keeping me from just falling asleep when I look at that, is the font they picked had that sorta cool lightning bolt looking thing coming off the 'r'.

(As for the poll, I picked the top option. Cover art, and even the inlay art can add so much to an albums personality. I could write a whole essay about how I feel about album art, but I might save that for my journal I think.)

I hate having the 15 post rule, so ill post some when i get there (actual picks)

For now you can google them yourself ;]

Flight of the conchorRAB
Kid CuDi man on the moon
Lirabeck

Thanks :D

I know what you mean but I just couldn't see it for some reason. Maybe I need to go back and listen to X&Y?

I mean the artist - as in the artist who done the artwork, of course I know who Live is  I'll admit Live started getting really preachy all of a sudden but I've grown up with their music so my opinion on them is based around that as well.

Back on topic, here are another two:

Queens Of The Stone Age - Era Vulgaris GOOD
I just love this cover for some reason, it's absurd and quirky. I love the colour and the font they picked was perfect. Retro Neo-Psychedelia FTW.

Ja Rule - Pain Is Love BAD
How self-important is this cover? Well most rap album covers are but this just makes Ja Rule out to be this righteous figure, almost God-like. Can't stand him or this ****ty cover.

Agreed...

...and btw I am a massive Tool fan and I don't think they are pretentious at all for using art so prominently. It just makes them who they are I guess.

I don't think there's anything pretentious about trying to make an album into a full-on experience. Tool's videos have always been great (except maybe Hush... that was kind of dull) and their artwork has always been great. When you buy a Tool album, you know you're in for a treat with the liner notes.

Remeraber the 3-D artwork from Aenima? Awesome!
