Post The Best/Worst Album Cover Art

Posting this cover, cause if I was asked this question as a kid I would have picked:

I actually spent alot of time as a kid trying to recreate this whole thing for an art class, just cause I liked it so much. I thought I did a decent job, but my teachers was just like, "uhhhh..."

I donno, there's alot of little details in it. You can't see it here very well but if the image was sharper there's some amusing stuff going on between the crowd of people.

Gastr Del Sol has some of the best album covers I've ever done seen. I've been wondering for months how this was done, ****ing brilliant.

The Psychic Ills also have some pretty good taste in art. In case you're wondering it's "Three Hairs and Shadow" by Wolf Vostell.

Best: Joy Division - Unknown pleasures

simple, elegant, and powerful. its looks like an album that should be in your collection

Worst: Rolling Stones - dirty work

throwaway 80's bull****. It's like everything I hated about the 80's was captured on the cover

I think I'll always prefer this as my favorite Costello cover:

But the one you posted is certainly a lot better than this...

The story behind this is hilarious, too. Virgin sent them to some company who specialized in album art..they showed them a whole bunch of concepts (included was a few that became famous, like the guy on fire shaking hanRAB with some other dude) and as the band were walking out unhappy Partridge saw this hanging on a wall and pointed it out. Apparently it was the office joke, like, "Nobody would ever want this, haha" so they just kept it on the wall as a joke. And XTC liked it and convinced the guy they were with (who thought they were kidding) to let them use it.

I love this album cover it just looks awesome, i have a bit of a thing for black and white covers

I love the cover for Aphex Twin's Selected Arabient Works 85-92, i just keep staring at that syrabol wondering what the hell it's supposed to be. It's a really great simple cover that just grabs your attention.

Yeuch, don't remind me :p:

Yeah, My Aim Is True's the more iconic one. It's a close second with me. The North cover just reflects a kind of downbeat melancholy probably better than any other cover I've ever seen. Shame the album itself is so boring though.

Agreed!!! They get too much **** because most of there fans think so highly of them and if you don't like Tool, than you don't know music.

And I'm a huge Tool fan, but they are far from being the best ever. I've always loved there album covers/booklet artwork. Even though the inside of Undertow disturbs me a bit.
