Post Surgical Odor

I had my right biceps and rotator cuff operated on recently. There is a distinctive odor that has been coming from my right armpit since the surgery. Even after showering, and cleaning very well with soap, the odor is still there. It's not a body odor smell. In fact it's like nothing I've smelled before. It's even somewhat noticeable through deodorant. Anyone know what could be causing this? I thought maybe an infection, but my surgeon says all looks good. I asked him about it, and he had no idea. All he could offer was, "Maybe surgerical paint."
 
mlj I had the same odor you are describing. Wow, what a topic. LOL. I found that I could not move my shoulder to open up the arm pit to let air in and out. I would sweat profusely. After I could some range of motion the funk went away. You are not unique in this area. Good Luck with your recovery.
