Well, I did it. It was supposed to be done in one procedure, but they had to stop. I went in on the 25th. They did the front entry, and he started cleaning up. He said I just started oozing everywhere. He got the hardware in and closed.
He waited 2 days and went in the back entrance. He said L4 And L5 was black and disintigrated. Thats the level where the dynamic stabilization was and really wasn't my problem area in the beginning. So he refused that. He Refused 5 and s1 and used bmp. He thought I was a nonfusion, but he said when he got in there it was a descent fusion. So I went in the 25 and I came home Moday. Its great to be home. Significant post op pain, but not unbearable. I am praying for a good result this time. So I guess I'm like 10 post op days today and very happy. Hard to tell at this point what is fixed and what isn't, and I realize that may take awhile. But, I feel I have a new start. Thanks for all your comments and suggestions the past weeks.

Fourteen days post op today. I still can't tell much. Everyone asks if the pain is gone. Its hard to differentiate from post op pain. This was my revision procedure, so I'm praying it works. I'm already starting to get a little nervous about it. I go to the Dr. next week, so I'll keep you posted.

I am so glad your procedure went relatively well. Keep your chin up, it is still really early in the recovery. I have my fusion April 7th. He is only fusing one level, but I have problems at 2 levels so I am hoping that, if he see's that L4 and L5 look really bad, that he will fix those too, like your surgeon did. Rest and walk if you can, and hopefully each day will get a little better. Let me know how your appointment goes.

Sorry I missed your first post. SounRAB like you're doing pretty well. Oozing, huh? That doesn't sound good, but I guess it all worked out. Once the surgical pain dies down, I hope you'll be able to tell that things are much better. Was your doctor happy with what he was able to do?

Are you doing okay now with walking and getting around a bit? Just remeraber that your full time job now is RECOVERY! Don't go trying to do stuff you shouldn't be doing just because you're feeling better. Take it easy and let that fusion get going full guns!

I can't wait to hear that your doctor is seeing bone growth on your x-rays!

Hang in there, one day at a time.

Blessings,
Emily

My first post op week went better than this last week. I started running low grade temps yesterday. It did it again today so I called him. My incisions are clean and dry. No drainage or red spots. Just feel blaaaaaaa. He said it could be viral. He said if I reach 101.5 to go to the hospital. Otherwise I see him for staple removal on Tues. I'm only running 99.3 to 100.2. But I think after you've been through a couple of these you start to get paranoid. Have any of you had low grade temps post op? I think I'm just looking for things to worry about now. Thank you all for listening.
