Post Nasal Drip?

Typo

New member
For the past 8 months I have been suffering from constant snorting of mucus. This condition has dramatically affected my life, I dread sleep, I miss a lot of school, and I'm just not who I use to be anymore.

I'm currently taking allergy shots and allergy medication (Zyrtec) (Nasonex). I occasionally use a neti pot. I'm beginning to doubt that allergies are the source of this problem.

Is there anything else I should be doing?

Have you tried a decongestant? Sudafed? Are you on other meRAB that might have this as a side effect?

I haven't tried Sudafed, because my ENT told me that a decongestant probably wasn't necessary.

And no, I am not on any other medications. My health has always been great...until this came along.

You don't need sudafed. The nasonex is a great medication for post nasal drip though it is not fast acting. It does work though you must take it daily for a long period. Your post nasal drip can definately be caused by allergies, but if you're not convinced that that is the underlying cause of your problem you should see and ent and definately request a ct scan of your sinuses. This test will definately shed some light.
Good luck.

I had my sinuses scanned and they were fine. I'm currently trying Sudafed but have yet to see a significant difference.

I've been using the Zyrtec and Nasonex daily for quite awhile, I've yet to improve. I don't have any other allergy symptoms.
