Post here if you love the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy!

Perhaps there isn't quite the magic of the original trilogy, but who knows?

But I think episodes 1, 2 and 3 were exciting films, and I enjoyed them. Watching them all together as a six-parter will allow us to begin to see them all as one, and there'll be less of a stigma attached to the new films.

Come on, even those who didn't like the new films, can't say they were that bad(?)

My warmest regarRAB,

Mister Maganese :)

The Phantom Menace is a bit of a mess, mainly due to Jar Jar and loss focus for the Naboo invasion and lack of Sith action in the Tattooine scenes. Jake Lloyd is more than a little annoying as well. It started and ended well (Jar Jar fighting the battle droiRAB aside)

Attack of the Clones is underrated although it has some awful dialogue and the chemistry between HC and NP isn't there. HC isn't that great at all.

Revenge of the Sith is pretty good, and stanRAB up pretty well alongside the original trilogy.

Gotta agree here, however my kiRAB love TPM, are not too excited by AOTC, but really enjoy ROTS, which we actually watched again last Saturday night. AOTC should have been a really good stepping stone to the end of the trilogy but, for me, didn't progress the story enough. The fight at the end of was good but it was a mess up to then.

I loved them. I think a lot of the moans people have is because they had seen the first(second) 3 over and over and over and were very familiar with them. They then attempted to measure one outing of 1,2,3 against many viewings of 4,5,6. It's an unfair comparison. In time I think they'll become almost equally enjoyed.

They certainly have their moments, but I really think the reason they don't hold up is because they take themselves far, far too seriously.

The Original Trilogy has swashbuckling, it has romance, it has adventure, it has excitement, it has a team of rogues rescuing a princess from the clutches of an evil empire. It's almost like a medieval fairytale, only in space.

But the latest three just get bogged down in politics, intergalactic conferences, and turning Darth Vader into a whinging kid followed by a wooden depressive. It's just no fun (and when it tries to be it just falls flat on its face).

I used to love The Phantom Menace as a kid, but it's just embarrassing to watch now, mainly because of Jake Lloyd and Jar Jar. The Podrace scene is good but Anakin is just such an utterly detestable kid.

I haven't seen Attack of the Clones in years, and so I can't really comment on it.

Revenge of the Sith is very good, despite some awful dialogue and Hayden Christiansen. But it's all a bit predictable, because we know what's going to happen. It's like one long fanwank.

Huge fan here too. Old enough to know better for sure, but I still enjoyed the prequels massively. I too think that over time they'll be viewed more fairly, rather than generic Binks bashing.

For me the prequels serve up some truly great Star Wars moments, and I just cannot dismiss them because of internet hatred for Binks.

"Love" is too strong a term. They're watchable and aren't the Satanic vomit people make them out to be, but they are incredibly flawed.
I mean be fair, who in the universe likes Jar Jar Binks? Awful character.
Phantom Menace is saved only by Maul - the rest of the movie (including the race) is like some Disney kooky sci-fi yarn.
Clones is my favourite of the prequels - the Fet & son scenes are a favourite, and I really like the fight in the arena at the end.
Sith is ok but it's just not dark enough, this is supposed to be the fall from grace of the man who will unite the whole universe. Instead he gets a bit teenage-pissy, kills his missus of a broken heart (oh please!) and shouts "Nooooooo!" in a camp way. The Yoda/Sidius scenes are great tho, and rescue the film.

Just a shame Haydenson got the gig :(

I watched ep1 as a child and loved it, duno if I would think the same now though. Although Darth Maul will forever be one of the coolest Star Wars characters!!!
But I watched ep3 for the first time last week and I thought it genuinely looked like one massive pisstake of the star wars movies.

Wooden acting, verrrrrrryyy mediocre fight sequences, aweful dialogue and directing.
I was soooo bored throughout the whole thing.

So Im going to go with, no I dont love them.

I think Natalie Portman's pretty and Ewan McGregor's cool...
The second one and third one were actually pretty decent, but the annoying romance dominated too much of AotC although the fight scene at the end was pretty epic.
Number 3 was ruined by campy acting and the huge plot holes created but otherwise it was alright.

Again, I'm divided on this. I thought he was the best thing since sliced bread when I was a kid, but now I just find him to be the most utterly pointless character. I mean, compared to Vader, Palpatine, Fett, even Dooku to an extent, he's just an avatar with zero personality who stanRAB around looking cool.

It's just a bit ironic, because Lucas did the "Episode V" thing for The Empire Strikes Back as a bit of a joke, to give it the feel of the kind of adventure TV show he used to watch where he'd only ever come in half-way through a serial.

But then he went all anal and decided that because A New Hope was Episode IV, he had to fill in the other three!

I love them in the way I'd love three slightly smelly chavs in my family. Sure, they're very flawed (especially Episode 2 Chav, who is a very dull idiot), but they're part of my Star Wars family, so they'll always have a place in my heart - albeit tucked away behind the original trilogy, comic books and even the cartoon series.

Midichlorians were worse than jar-jar and anakins acting combined. The fight scenes were cool, specially Darth Mauls(prob the best actually) but otherwise I really didn't like it.
