I am tossing around the idea of starting my own photography business. I have the camera, well what i consider a good camera (Sony A200) What else would i need to get this started? I know i need lighting and printers. But what kind? and where should i begin?

I need to be blunt here for you.
If your asking these questions your not ready.
If you only own one camera your not ready.. what happens if it breaks and your expected to be making images?
Where have you taken the business classes ? Have you made a business plan and have you had it reviewed by your banker?
You have not told us anything to be of any help to you.

You should actually try to get a kind of apprenticeship with a professional photographer for a couple of years first. Learn the ropes of shooting for a studio and in running a business. Some business classes wouldn't hurt.

You need a good camera, adjustable lights, studio (just floor, ceiling & two walls completely white OR different sized black boards e.t.c.), different backgrounds, maybe a green screen if you want to change different backgrounds after you take the photo, things like chairs/cushions/sofas/stools/tables/and unique objects for subjects to pose on, maybe a variety of different cameras that do different things, many memory cards, a computer/laptop (doesn't matter what kind as long as it has a lot of space for photos, is fast and has all the different photo editing software's and things), printer (you'd just have to ask the guy in the shop what the best photo-printing printer is) and maybe different objects like roses, books, rubber ducky's (lol) or even empty photo frames (to use as template later) for subjects to hold.....

I think the best thing to do would be to hang out at a photo studio for the day. Write down lots of questions you'd like answered & either bring a voice recorder or a video camera so you can re-play the answers. Video camera would be better because video the different things they have in the studio, see how they work and find out their names, why they're important, what they do e.t.c.

Hope this helped!!!!!!!!!!!! :D xxx
