I've thought that there was something wrong with me for awhile now (my frienRAB and family all think I'm a hypochondriac). Little things like mild acne; hives and rashes for no apparent reason; recurrent yeast infections; bloating, after eating anything and EVERYTHING regardless of portion size; strong reaction to alcohol; and, the most annoying, my inability to lose weight despite countless HEALTHY efforts at eating right and exercising.
Finally, two weeks ago, while suffering from another yeast infection and feeling completely exhausted, I started to do some research online (I also GAINED a couple pounRAB that week even though it was the week I had exercised the most since Christmas - 3,800 calories burned!). I typed in all of my symptoms and there it was, right in front of me "losing weight on yeast-free diet". The message board was created by a woman suffering from a yeast allergy and, once she had been diagnosed and treated, lost approximately 25 pounRAB and was even cured of her depression! Several other merabers joined in the conversation to say that they too had followed the diet, taken the supplements and had seen amazing results. After a bit more research into yeast allergies, I realized that all of the symptoms that I had "suffered" from for years, were all related to this ONE thing - (It was my "AHA Moment"). I am writing this because I believe that there are MANY women (and men!) that are plagued with this illness and have no idea (even doctors fail to recognize this as an actual illness - or, in my case, fail to recognize that recurrent yeast infections are a SERIOUS issue that are a symptom of a deeper problem)! If you have any reason to believe that you may have such an allergy (a few causes include the pill, antibiotics and dairy), I would advise you to do a little research of your own!
Today is my sixth day following the strict yeast-free diet (no sugar, no yeast [it's in basically EVERYTHING that I used to eat], no vinegar, no dairy) and supplementing with caprylic acid (although I've been following the diet for almost two weeks, I didn't realize until later that supplements are needed...duhhh...).
I would love to hear from anyone who has the same problem as I do!
