Possible CVA Diagnosis

Hi, everyone.
Well, the pulmonologist suspects CVA like everyone else. He started me on Advair and has scheduled some tests, which he said will probably be normal. I've had 4 doses of Advair and I want to say it's working, because i see small improvements, but I don't want to get too excited just yet. Anyway, I hope this is the answer!

It's a good one. I've narrowed this down to CVA, GERD, or Post-nasal drip syndrome. All can cause the chronic, dry cough. We'll see what the doc says.

I haven't heard of Lidocaine with a nebulizer, but if it is just a short-term (4 hour) thing, it wouldn't be worth the trouble to me.

For me, the Advair is working well, but I'm only at 75% of being aymptomatic. IOW, I've seen huge improvements, but it's been almost four weeks since i started the drug, so I think I mgiht need the higher dose for a month or so, just to kill the last of it. Then I can go back to the dose I'm on now when things are totally under control. I see my pulmonologist on Tuesday, so I'm looking forward to hearing what he thinks.

I think what bothers me about the AC is that it's cool air, which my lungs don't like. Holly speculated there are chemicals in the AC air that could be a problem, and she might be right. Since I work out of my home, I can open the windows, but then I have dust blowing in, which is the hugest trigger of all for me.

But I rarable. Thanks for the feedback.
Karen
