Poss. New Career, need a new phone.

I'm on cingular and currently using a Treo 680. I use my phone for everything in my life. It's my calender (el hug-o importanto), my phone, my organizer etc.

I am possibly going to change careers and I need a different phone, the Treo 680 is just too big and doesn't have near enough battery life. I have been looking at the Blackberry Pearl for its size and usability, i'm not sure on the battery life. Anyone have any ideas?

The Pearl requires a BB dataplan for Internet and email. The unlimited personal plan is $30 a month with a qualified voice plan.

Also some people love the suretype keypad, others hate it so be sure you check it out fully, especially if you do a lot of email and TMs.

I do ALOT of TMs, I usually go over my 1000 / month. The unlimited data plan... does that include text messages etc? I have a media plan right now that is 19.99 / month that is 1k TMs + internet and multimedia messages.

I would switch to TMo then if you can. For 29.99 you get unlimited data and unlimited texts with a Blackberry. And I think for $60/month you can get the unlimited data/unlimited texts with 1000 minutes, but I'm not sure.

The $30 unlimited does not include TMs. Cingular does have one however, it is new. I think its called BB unlimted MAX or something like that. About $50 a month.

what about other options as far as phones, I mean, the pearl is only the first thing I saw that met my needs for planner / phone / etc.

Sorry, I thought it did. Thanks for correcting me on that.

As for the Pearl, I am sort of unimpressed by it. I was considering buying one and still am, however its poor multimedia abilities leave me somewhat unimpressed. However, for size, the Pearl is as small as a Smartphone with a half-decent screen can get. Although you might try looking at a Samsung Blackjack.
