Portland, OR - EVDO Launched

I wanted to report that after manually loading the Cricket EVDO PRL, my phone now shows "Ev" instead of "1X". I am in the Hillsboro area west of Portland and normally got 1 or 2 bars, with this new PRL, I now often get 3 bars and saw it go to up to 4. I have not been able to load web pages yet, but I can resolve DNS and ping mms.mycricket.com, so I probably have a proxy issue at this point.

Update: Tonight my phone's web browser started working on EVDO. I did not change anything, the cricket proxy just started working. I can also use Google Maps, etc. It all works well and faster than before. It's certainly a noticable difference.

Thanks,

Hey may not have set the HDR password... hard to say without the details.

I'm kind of in the same boat here though. It's looking like the Q is a 1X data phone on Cricket's network, due to some locked seems (attributes).

evdo in phoenix is already in the testing stages i have been testing for 2 weeks and there is a few problems but not as many as there was last week.

About the HDR password issue, I tried searching on this topic without any luck. I do not have the hybrid or HDR hybrid options in the Network connection types. Is there a tutorial you can link me to or instructions for changing the HDR password/setting?

natureboy88, glad my post helped you get your internet working...

I'm also in Denver, and so far have not come across any evdo cricket phones, flashed or otherwise. I've tried a bunch of stuff to see if I could coax a different prl OTA, but I always get 1040. It doesn't matter what type of phone I have, or what type of phone is listed on my cricket account.

To edit your data username/password, use the dial code: ##DATA (##3282), which works on all sprint phones, and some verizon treos too.

I'm not sure exactly which username/password this modifies, but I'm fairly certain it's the NAI username/password, which is generally part of a mobile ip profile, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

My phone doesn't show either 1x or EV icons. I can only tell from the data transfer arrows (above the reception bars) that I am not on EVDO.

doing the ##DATA, I see that:

user name is [email protected].
There's a space for password and HA Password.
There's Primary HA of 68 28 15 12
Secondary HA: 68 28 31 12
IP address is checked automatic
Tunneling is reverse
MN-HA SPI is 1234
MN-AAA SPI is 1234

So, I don't really know what any of that means, but I can modify it, so what should I change?

Thanks in advance!

Change the username to (your10digit#)@mycricket.com and the password to "cricket" (without the quotes). The rest of the settings look okay.
