Porting issue...

Ok, Friday morning I opened up a port request. Agent said to call back 4 hours later to make sure it went thru.

I work nights, and totally crashed out till just after the porting department closed.

Now, the port seems to be half done. The line on the other carrier is disconnected. However when i call the nuraber, i get an "out of service" error message, and i cant tell if its a cricket message or a nextel message.

The cricket phone is still working on the old nuraber.

I assumed there was something i probably had to do on my end, like re-program the nam to the new nuraber or something, so i programmed the MDN with the new nuraber. However, the phone is still operating (correctly) with the old nuraber.


And i've called porting 3 times yesterday, gave up after an hour on hold each time. I'm currently 35 minutes into the second call today...

Anyone know what i'm missing so I can fix this myself?
 
You need to call them back and complete the process, its that simple. Once the old carriers phone stops working, cricket has the nuraber, and can assign it to you.
 
ok, good info then. I'll try later on in the day, i had better luck with them after about 7pm my time.

i may actually meet my 600 minutes on my blackberry this month, with all the time i spend on the phone with them... of course, i cant call them on the unlimited phone... lol.

You can call them from your Cricket phone. They are in America, and I think they close at 8PM PST. Shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to push it through.
