Porting from Verizon - how long

Has anyone ported their number from Verizon? How long does this typically take? I'm at almost 24 hours.

They tell you 24-48, but might take as long ad 72. In my experience, porting people to t-mobile, Verizon generally takes the longest... Why? Don't have the slightest...

no idea why it takes so long. it is litterally 5 minutes worth of work. it took me 8 day to port from sprint/nextel to tmobile, 8 DAYS. i was furious.

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~ my suggestion is call t-mobile activations at 1 877 727 8778 because within the first two hours of porting you should have gotten a welcome to tmobile txt message

I got the welcome message a couple of hours ago. Does that mean I'm getting close?

Well I got ported as of about 5:15 PM today. So it was right around 24 hours.

yes, if you have gottent he welcome message thats means that it's starting to go through.

when i went from Verizon to Tmobile took me about 16hrs....for my 1 phone the 2nd one was instantanious. Depends on the carrier. Verizon sometimes will call you and make sure you want to cancel then they will let it go on through. Great way to scam outta verizon is to cancel the phone then re-activate same line again and they will give you a discount and a free phone.
