I was just debating this with a friend of mine and this is actually pretty interesting to think of our Goverment in this way. Now correct me if I'm wrong but according to my knowledge people who are porn stars or people who take part in other activities that have been dubbed obsecene by society are not allowed to join the military as enlisted or an Officer but yet they are allowed to run for public office such as Congressman, Senator, Govenor, Vice President and President and etc. Now in our Country we have Civilian Control of the military with the President being the Commander and Cheif of the Armed Forces and Congress apprioiates the Armed Forces.
Ok now can someone explain to me why is it that someone who is a porn star can't join the military but they can become an elected offical and be in charge and order the military around and give orders to Officers and such and be of a higher office then the Officers. Remember Elected Officals are the militarys superiors so they have to take orders from the elected officals. I think that this is an interesting question.
Remember back in the California recall election one of the people that was running was Porn Star Mary Carey and if she had won she would have been the Commander and Cheif of the California National Guard. This really makes no sense to me at all!

Well considering the Average American is an idiot I wouldn't be so sure of that but thats besides the point. Why is it that they cna do thsi but not that?
I mean ok granted I see the argument why they can't become an officer but I don't see why they can't be enlisted?
