From what I gather, the issue is not Sony saying no XXX on the BD platform, but rather not allowing these studios to use thier BD pressing facilities.
I imagine this won't be an issue as soon as more blue-ray disc presses come online. While nobody can argue that porn isn't an enourmous money maker, I wonder if some of this pissing contest comes from the porn producers not meeting the volume demand that Sony may require for studios to use thier BD pressing facilities.
But there is so many behind the scene angles that could have triggered this that we may never know. Sony could have made a deal with Disney to sign them to the BD platform, or WalMart wouldnt distribute them if they allowed for porn.
Is thier any porn actually being made on HD-DVD or available for sale in the US now? All Ive seen is porn studios saying they want to commit to this format or that. If not, Im sure now whichever format is the first, it will draw heat in the media. God fearing people left and right will come unglued, while the same people are checking online to see if it comes in an unmarked paper bag.
