On droidforums.net and androidforums.com, this has popped up a few times. Turn off voice privacy and a lot of folks have said that their call quality is improved. If that doesn't fix it, return it for another unit.
I did turn off voice privacy. I am on my second Droid in two days. Any other ideas? Someone said to dial ##PROGRAM and SEND on your dial pad. Select Vocode, then EVRC-B. Your phone will reboot afterwards. However, Verizon told me not to do it.
