i have a Kawasaki xi supersport 94' 750cc It has poor throttle response. I am wondering if it needs to be re jetted? I am going to clean it today but i think it needs adjustment or re jetting. how do you know how much to adjust the jets with the carb not on the ski? when u hit the gas it will die if u hold it, you have to wiggle it to get it to get up on rpms. it has no power under 4000 rpms then it hits over that and it has its power but it seems under powered. It used to rpm up to 8000 now its only at 7000 or less? it might need a engine re build....?

Its not re jetting. You change the jets out if you get a pipe or make a modification. It sounds like you use cheap gas and you need to clean the carbs. If you have an in line filter change that out to

Jets don't ware out.
If the engine ran fine before and no engine mods were made, jetting will have little to no affect.
The most common problem would be a worn out top end (cylinder, piston & rings).
2 stroke engines require rebuilds quite often.
The 2nd most common problem with personal watercraft - is the carburetors get destroyed from salt water.
