Poor design in rear tire valve stem on 2010 RD King Classic

My 2010 FLHRC rear tire has a steel valve stem that is too close to a spoke making it nearly impossible to positively seat a air hose nipple on it. Even the dealer admitted that they are having problems with the rear tire air inflation of Road Kings. They have to secure the bike on a lift and lean heavily on the air hose in order to get a positive seal for injecting air. I recommended that the dealer install a right angle valve stem. They won't until Harley Davidson USA approves such a modification. I then called Harley Davidson USA Customer service. They stated that they are aware of it but there is no solution at this time. No joy.

Get this. Problem solved. You don't leave it on the valve. Just screw it on when you check pressure or add air. The 2nd is a spare or a gift to your best riding buddy.

My Heritage with spoke wheels are a bitch to get to. Bags on it don't help either. Drew blood today & forgot if sprocket or rotor sharp edge got me. Hopefully after a couple more times I'll learn the pinch point.

I spent about $4.00 at an auto parts store and bought a chuck, a 45 degree adapter, and a quick connect air fitting. Works perfect. I carry it in my tool kit.

As long as the air hose has a quick disconnect I am all set, so far that hasn't been a big deal.

Or this. The hose is screwed to the valve and extends a foor or two.

The 90 degree gauge works great and top quality.

Thanks bud - I have an 09 Road King Classic and this has always been my biggest frustration with the bike. I just ordered the valve and can't wait to get this in the mail. Appreciate the tip!!!
