I have been having trouble getting my Trans Am into gear... It has been sitting at my house for about 3 months since I didn't have the time to fix it or get it looked at..

I decided to take it to my local mechanic that does all my work on my cars... When I started it to pull out of the garage it would not go into reverse, so I ended up rolling it down the driveway and rolling it into first which it gave me a very hard time, and gave me a hard time shifting up to third which was enough to keep speed on the highway, when I hit my exit the light turned yellow and I decided to yield right so I didn't have to down shift or stop since I had to roll it into first earlier... now the funny part about it is after I yield right it started shifting perfectly fine like its supposed to the rest of the way to the mechanics shop...

Mechanic told me its not the clutch because it is not slipping... and said to change the transmission gear oil to 80/90... and see how it runs... or replace the throw off baring...

I think it could possibly be one of two things... the gear oil in the transmission is not heating quick enough at when the car has sat overnight... Or the throw off bearing is bad...

Any advice would help if you have ever had the same problem
Sorry I forgot to add this detail... I had the clutch replaced 5-6 months ago... could I have burned it so fast?
