Pontiac GTO and the future?

I know the US stopped Producing them a few years back, but someone told me GM is going to start production again in the 2010 year?

Anyone hear this?

As I am googling I see something about a 09 model and other sites saying they will continue the line?

Unfortunately, I'm afraid that if you want a GTO, you'll have to purchase a classic.
It's a very sad demise for the original muscle car.

Added: I hope I'm wrong, but all the indicators and conventional wisdom point to the whole Pontiac line going the way of the Rambler, Packard, Hudson, Edsel, etc...etc.....
