pontiac grand am question?

i have an 01 pontiac grand am......its been running at about on the 220 degrees mark on the dash, is this normal? i heard the grand ams and grand prix's run hotter, is that the truth?

its a v6 gt with the ram air if that helps. it's already had the head and intake gaskets changed. and it's not the symptoms of that.
 
Well that's a little hot but take the radiator cap and replace it with a 7lb cap.This way here it can relive some steam.See the more pressure it builds up the hotter the engine temp will be.It should run around 190 at full operating temp,you can also put a cooler thermostat in it,that will cool it off to.
