pontiac grand am 01 heater not working and car turns off by it self...?

so i have a grand am 01 and last week the heater stopped workinq and its cold i live in chicago, and right now on a stop light the car just turned off by it self i do have gas on it it has happend to me like 3 times already and the motor makes a loud noise i think its the fan also when ever i want to use the car it doesnt turn on so i have to wait 10min for it to turn on every time i use it. can u guys help me please! Thank You
