Hi yahoo. So I've had my g6 since 2005 and since right after the warranty expired there has been a brake issue.
Sometimes, but not always, when I go to start my car it won't allow me to shift from park to drive. Normally to do this one has to tap the brake while switching. But once in awhile, while trying to tap the break, it is very hard and puts up a ton of resistance and it feels as if there is some air in there or something.
What I've been doing is pressing down on the break with all my might and then it'll let me switch from park to drive. But today I couldn't push hard enough and had to wait and try again.
I've brought this car into three different places to get it fixed ( a GM place, a Midas, and a meineke) and nobody has an answer. Does anyone have an idea of how to fix it or what could be wrong. I'm bringing the car in this weekend to a GM place and maybe if I have an idea about the problem they can fix it.
Also, usually this only happens in bursts for a week then it disappears for a month. It is also usually preceeded by my car showing the "bring your car in for service soon" light come on but then the light goes away and the above problem occurs.
