I have a 1995 Pontiac Firebird with a V6 3.4L engine. When I'm going about 55mph and barely have the gas pedal pressed in, the RPM will suddenly drop from about 2k to 1k, the oil pressure gauge will move from about 50 to 35, and the car will start cutting out and jumping. When I press the gas all the way in the engine will make a quick "ghrrrk" noise that shakes the car and finally it will rev up and everything returns to normal. Going about 55mph is the only time it will do this, and it's just about every time the gas is barely held down. Why does it do this? How can it be fixed?
