So I volunteer at an ICU waiting room, and every day for the past four weeks this guy and his elder dad have been coming to the hospital because the guy's mom (the dad's wife) had been severely afflicted by cancer, and wasn't even waking up.
And the guy told me yesterday that their family had decided they were gonna pull the plug on his mom on Friday
I felt pretty sad hearing that.
The guy said the hospital *could* keep his mom alive, but she'd be in a vegetative state and would have a really low quality of life because of the cancer. So they eventually have chosen to end her life.
