Poll: listening to music/headphones during street riding

The tires rolling on the road surface make noise. This road noise gives you data about road conditions that are vital to safety. Never mind car horns and freight trains and all the other warning sounds you can't hear if you're listening to music; if you've got your ears filled with music, you can't hear the road! And if you're not interested in the road condition data that road noise provides, you have no business riding a motorcycle! I don't care if you're carving the canyons or slabbin' it, road noise is essential to safety! Arguing otherwise is patently absurd and void of credibility.

Lord no....I never listen to music while riding. What could possibly sound better than an Italian sportbike?? Heck, not even Lynyrd Skynyrd sounds as good as my Duc....and thats saying something!
Depends. Am I going on a long freeway ride or am I hitting the canyons?
For instance, when I ride to Ojai to go canyon riding, the music is on because Ojai is an hour away and it's all freeway. Weekends almost always with no real traffic, so yes, the music is on.
Once I'm at the bottom of Ojai 33, the music is OFF. No real need to have another distraction while you're trying to get off.

I dont ride with music but I'll admit I'm curious.
I do get a bit envious of the GoldWings with the 6-disc CD changers blasting music as they ride.
I find it amusing how many people point to how illegal it is but these same people probably have the rider passenger communication headsets. A distraction is a dsitraction.
I just ride to escape my life and my problems. Sometimes I push it and sometimes I dont, depends on how I feel that day. I worry that music might make me push it more so I will probably hold off.
I can't stand ear plugs but I need to figure out something because the wind noise isn't good for long term hearing.
