I had this question on my mind since it was on my writing quiz. What's your opinion on this?
To Indy: No, i don't expect any of you to say that it's wrong to hunt. I'm just looking for reasons why people hunt down animals. I'm not into hunting at all, so that's why
If you're wondering why this question was in my writing quiz, it's cause i was reading this story "The most dangerous game" and it's about this guy who's in this island and this other guy likes the game of hunting people. Look it up

It's not a sport. Its about getting healthier food on the table and helping control animal populations.

It's not about killing the biggest animal.. no where near that.

No I don't think it's wrong. It may be wasteful if you don't use the carcass. It may be foolish to kill rare species, but I still don't think it's morally wrong. Is it wrong for wolves to kill more than they need to eat? They often do for the thrill of the hunt. I don't think that is wrong either.

Hunting is wrong. Animals are living things just as we are. You wouldn't want to be hunted or have your family hunted, would you? If I were in power I would make sure hunting and every type of animal cruelty be banned. Breaching that rule would result in capital punishment, no doubt about it. I am ashamed of what man has become. It's disgusting. I feel such happiness when I hear of humans injuring themselves during hunting, they are getting what they deserve. Animals are lovely creatures created by God. They mind their own business. No wonder meat eaters, hunters, get all sorts of diseases like cancer, or strokes, heart attacks and such. I don't feel one bit of pity for them. Hunting was a practice of ancient times, it's such a shame that man's brain hasn't advanced or even progressed from ancient times. He will get what he deserves.

At 14 Joel and a product of our public education and brain washed by liberal arts teachers.......I doubt you would ever understand...

Most do it for the sport and the food and some use the hide as well.

No, I don't believe hunting is wrong.

Hunting is both beneficial to us and to the game, since hunters insure game animals have a habitat in which to thrive...

Yes I do. Unless that animal is a threat or a pest of some sort. Hunting for Food is perfectly fine in my book. In fact, I consider it the far more human option than the way our factory farms produce meat for consumption.

That's just me and I make no attempt to force my belief on anyone else.

i think personally people who just hunt for the sport and for the big game and the big rack so on and so forth are in it for the wrong thing hunting as been a way for many years for people to survive and eat meat which is very good for you plus as well there is the tradition where dad teaches son to hunt for food so his son can survive. where i live there are allot of campers that come in during big game season who just basically hunt so they can go back to the city and brag to there buddies about the big deer they shot and they just leave the deer in the woods and keep the horns you cant eat the horns so it doesn't matter how big they are so hunting for sport is wrong in my opinion.

Well Hunting is one of the Greatest Sports since the beginning of Man for Centuries, and has provided nourishing Food to the Hunter, his Family, Friends, and Fellow Hunters.* " Hunting is Fun, Recreational, and Enjoyable; Killing is never Fun, Enjoyable, or Recreational."... No True Hunter derives any Pleasure, or Satisfaction from the Killing Alone of any of the Animals that he Harvests.* Wildlife is a Renewable Resource, and were put on Mother Earth to Harvest for Food & Sport.*

Hunting for food, no. Hunting coyote and predators like that, no. I dont think many people hunt for "sport", if they do, they need to do what I did and join the Marine Corps and go hunt some terrorist, i guarantee they wont step their game back down to animals

p.s. Hitler was a vegetarian

and to that someone person, plants are just as much as living creatures as animals, if you want to eat you have to kill, and you eat a lot of plants for one meal, one animal can last a long time, and its bad dirty meat from slaughter houses that creates nastiness, thats why people hunt, for nice clean meat, your train of thought shows how ignorant you are to reality

Nope. Not at all. You eat meat don't ya guy? Chicken, steak, something? Most hunters kill and use the meat they get (especially when it's deer and stuff.)

Now just sport hunting, don't bother me either. As long as they ain't going extinct it's all fine by me.

If a person is going to hunt an animal and just mount it on the wall, my option it is wrong. If he is going to hunt and eat the animal is fine. One is wasting, the other is how we live.
