tag your house or apartment? Is tagging art or plain vandalism?

"Tagging" means illegally writing your "tag" (kind of like a signature for those who make graffiti) on private or public property. In most cases it is done for self promotion, in other cases to "mark territory" (don't ask me about this, I only know my dog does it) and sometimes just as a personal obsession.

In the second question I obviously mean "Would you allow your house or apartment walls to be tagged by anyone WITHOUT your knowledge or individual permission?"

Warning: I am NOT talking about Graffiti or murals, which most of us would agree are art. I am only talking about tags.

Tagging is not art.

Good graffiti can be argued to be art, its definitely not set in stone, and i think 50% of people would still see murals as vandalism.

Tagging is Vandalism, thats the be all and end all of it.

I wouldn't want anyone to tag my home.

Tagging is not art, tagging is an ego war, its based on who can get their tag in the most/most outrageous places, and it's ridiculous, its like a turf war, but has little point, and is ugly.

If people want to graf anywhere, i don't mind, but make it interesting, stencils, murals and big graffiti can and often does look awesome, but is usually spoilt by a young kid with a permanent marker tagging over it.
