Aparently so, Steve Guttenberg and Michael Winslow have both been approached and it may be released next year...

Would this just be a horrible waste of money or could they actually make this film as rude and vulgar as the first 2 and bring some dignity back to the franchise?

I think they lost it after Guttenberg left so maybe him coming on board would be a good thing.

Especially as nowadays the likes of AMERICAN PIE and SOMETHING ABOUT MARY have opened up the film world to more open minded jokes that are not politically correct.

I have to say, appalling though this idea sounRAB, it could actually work really well...

The time could well be right for a bit of Police Academy nostalgia, and the first two films were pretty good... and since none of the actors seems to have had much success over the past 15 years (or however long it's been), they ought to be able to get the lot of 'em, including Bobcat Goldthwait...

EDIT - Just had a look on IMDb, and discovered that David Graf (Tackleberry) died in 2001... shame, he was a classic Police Academy character... also discovered that George Gaynes (Commandant Lassard) is 86 and Finnish!
 
nah they lost there spark after the first 4 movies:( the sixth and seventh were just not really that funny

Just bring back the women with the big boobs!!;) :p
 
If they make and release it, I will go see it! Be one of the rare times I actually visit the cinema. I have fond memories of the late 80's, me and my brother going to see PA4 in a cinema on holiday while mum and dad went down another poxy tin mine...

Those were the days..
