reports that Bubba Smith has been telling people that Police Academy 8: Reunion Movie is in the works-theatricaly!!

Former football player and star of the "Police Academy" series, Bubba Smith revealed to About.com that a reunion movie is in the works. "Yeah, I think we might do one this year," he said.

Asked whether this would be a theatrical or TV production, Smith said, "theatrical. If we get all the people we want. We can get the whole cast, but there are some people that we want as our children who would be going in."

The veteran cast would apparently be training a new generation. Bubba says that a lot of the original cast, including Steve Guttenberg, are up for the project.

The only reason I would watch this film is if they all died at the end (and not in a funny haha way).

Maybe they could make the script centre around a documentary format with some film makers following the police around their day to day lives. The viewers of the documentary get so fed up of the same tired rubbish they storm the aforementioned academy and burn it to the ground with everyone inside.

And everyone lives happily ever after (probably until Zombie Police Academy).

BORING!!!

i seen police academy 7 in the cinema, and it was the first (and, so far, only) film i thought of walking out of.
we had went to see something else, but with 27 of us there wasn't enough spaces in the other screen to accomodate us all. as far as i know there were 27 tickets sold for police academy 7 in my local cinema during its run...

The first and second PA films were the only watchable ones, the first was probably the best because it was an adult film. The others were all made for the kiddies. If an 8th came about, I would only go to see it if it was in the style of the first film.

Not all the cast members will be returning though, David Graff, who played Tackleberry, died in 2001.

Padzter :D

its might be great to have a film with all the original cast back together!!!! although it would be a big shame that the late Michael Graf (Tackleberry ) wouldnt be in it as he was one of the best characters!!!

te only thing is i think there are so many things that were in the first couple that couldnt be done now as so many would find it offensive

I think by today's standarRAB, all the 'gay' jokes (with "The Blue Oyster Bar" etc) would be quite un-PC. Shame that David Graf (Tackleberry) died, but does anyone know what any of the others have been upto since the last film in '94? If I am correct, Steve Guttenburg (Mahoney) hasn't been in a "Police Academy" film since the 4th one? The one with Sharon Stone in it... Anyway, be good to get him back for the new one - the 8th in total. He hasn't done much recently has he? What about the rest of the cast such as G.W Bailey and the woman with the big boobs, what have they been in recently? Bobcat Goldthwaite (Zed) has popped up on "Just For Laughs" a few times though.

I do wonder if this new movie will be a success? Btw, are the 7 films (so far) available on DVD?
