Yes yes I know:rolleyes::D we watched the last hour of it yesterday and I thought the graphics were amazimg. Does anyone know how they made the characters so realistic or is that just a 'blonde' question:confused: I noticed as well that they had wig makers so where would they come into it.....

Believe it or not they filmed the entire thing for real, using all the actors as if it were a movie. Then they did lots of motion capture, and then they 3D scanned all the actors bodies and faces. Then they threw it all into their SX Spectrums and out came the finished product. Cost an absolute fortune, as you can imagine ($165m - but made $301m back worldwide).

The same technology, though even more refined, has been used on the forthcoming 'Beowulf' movie. Can't wait, myself personally, but it's not everyone's cup of tea. You often hear moans of "why didn't they just real actors?" etc. The answer is, they did, of course.

It's a very sweet film really. It's worth catching in 3-D at an IMAX if it plays again this year. The 'normal' version seems a little odd in places as some scenes are just for 3D (the ticket flapping around inside and the scenes of it flying around outside, snow etc etc)

It's very well made, the only problem is that they haven't managed to master the eyes yet. I'm sure they will get there soon enough.

ho ho ho

I thought this film that fantastic also. Especially in HD on Sky Movies.

Regarding 'Beowulf', I saw a trailer for it at the cinema, and at first, I was confused as to whether it was real actors, animated or a mixture of both. It just seemed SO realistic.

I went and saw The Polar Express at the cinema when it was first out and loved it, my Mum then saw it and she loved it aswell. My brother ended up buying it for me for Christmas one year :D
