Pok謯n HeartGold and SoulSilver anime

Ash's Johto Pokemon were terrible, Heracross and Donphan were the only good ones.

Sadly they were captured in a time where the writers kept all Pokemon unevolved and cutesy, so unless Ash actually evolves them this time, they're out of place with the rest of his Pokemon.

The thing is his Sinnoh Pokemon are still developing, I don't see Grotle and Monferno being left behind at Oak's lab just yet.

We really need to get Torterra and Infernape on Ash's team stat.

As for Ash's Johto team, I liked everyone in it. It's a shame that Chikorita didn't go all the way to Meganium but that's the writers' fault. Totodile and Cyndaquil should've also went all the way to their final stages since there was no way they could be as great as the team-up of Charizard/Squirtle/Bulbasaur and even I wanted Ash's Kanto team to be fully evolved as well.

I could see Ash calling his Johto team during some matches as he travels around Johto again. I don't really see him placing his entire Sinnoh team back at Oak's place and getting his Johto team. Maybe Gliscor, but I don't see him placing more than two of his Sinnoh team back there since he still developed most of his Hoenn team during the Kanto Battle Frontier.

While his Johto starters aren't as strong as many of Ash's other Pokemon, I'm not sure if I would call them terrible. It would have been nice to see Bayleef fully evolve into a Megainum or at least have Cyndaquil evolve into a Quilava since it battled the most out of all three starters, but I don't think that there terrible.

Besides that, I'm sure that they're stronger than when we last saw them. Even though they are at Prof. Oak's place, they're not just sleeping all day and all night. If Phanpy could come back right before the Kanto Battle Frontier when it did virtually nothing when it appeared in Master Quest, except one victory in the Silver Conference, and was much stronger with new attacks, I don't see why it can't be like that for Ash's Johto starters and Noctowl. I would at least consider that a possibility.

Not sure about Squirtle, but it's correct that Bulbasaur was reluctant to evolve.

As for GS filler episodes, it better not be like the GS seasons of Pokemon (in which too much filler resulted in me losing interest in the anime).

That's true. Bulbasaur was pretty content with not evolving, as was shown in the episode "Bulbasaur's Mysterious Garden" back in season one. I always thought that it was implied that Squirtle didn't want to evolve since it was an abandoned Pokemon, possibly because of not evolving, and I felt that it was also comfortable with being a Squirtle, even though it was never really as obvious as Bulbasaur's feelings.

I WANNA SEE THE GIRL WHO WAS A FAN OF THE ELECTABUZZ BASEBALL TEAM (that sucked, unlike the great Magikarp or Starmei teams, apparantly according to Ash)!!!!!!

Blah, we don't need her. The last thing we need is another useless meraber as a part of Ash's team. She was good but I'm willing to bet that even the hardcore fans would say to leave her off the show. I doubt that we'll ever see any of Ash's old rivals back save for Gary.

Maybe now they can finally open that damn GS ball, right?

I've waited 8 years for them to open that ball! It's like a piece of my childhood that was never solved.

Assuming Ash returns to the Jotho region for the Battle Frontier or for whatever reason, I see him useing his Jotho pokemon more frequently, but maybe not as carrying partners... like in the original Battle Frontier.

HeartGold/SoulSilver... what, is that the name of the Gold/Silver remakes?

Yep.

Personally I wish Ash would just involve his Johto starters, something tells me he's going to take all three again and get one capture which will promote a fifth generation Pokemon.

I just checked the video games forum.... and look, I take a moderate break from the internet for a week to study for exams, and Nintendo tells the whole world about the G/S remakes, and I don't find out 'til a week later.

Well, I did say a little something about what I would like to see in the anime in one of the threaRAB over there. I'm too tired ATM to repeat myself, so i'll let you look for yourself.

But you have to remeraber in the Platinum there are only 5 frointer brains so they would mean either one of the two things
A) A shorter season
or
B) A lot of filler
And it probably would be the latter that we would get. But I suppose it could work because we are going to need filler till gen 5 starts.

C) An awesome National tournament at the end of it. Not just the sma eold regional tournaments that Ash always competes in. He neeRAB to think bigger.

... but you're probably right, a LOT of filler.

+

The producer of the anime said that there was supposed to be a Celibii inside of the ball but when they choose it for movie 4 they just hoped we would forget about it.

While it would be interesting for them to open the GS ball after all of these years, I doubt that they're actually going to do that. It's been eight years and they've never mentioned anything about it after Ash got his second Johto badge. Besides, as J!!! mentioned, the producer mentioned that they were originally going have Celebi come out of the GS ball, but they decided to do the fourth movie instead and hoped that their audience would forget it. I also believe that he said that they would never go back to solving the GS ball plot.

Filler episodes can be pretty enjoyable, but it depenRAB on their general plot within the episode. I also have a feeling that before Ash goes back to Johto, they'll do something with that island that you can go to after beating the game. I could be wrong, but I'm thinking that they'll do that for awhile and then go to Johto for awhile.

I think that it is a bit premature to worry about this now though since HeartGold and SoulSilver have only been confirmed for a few days and based on the episode listings from Serebii, Ash is just about to battle for his seventh Sinnoh League badge next week in Japan. I don't see Ash getting anywhere near Johto until somewhere this fall at the earliest, but it depenRAB on the pacing for the rest of the Sinnoh saga.
