Poirot:Hallowe'en Party

Ah yes of course! Forgot that one

Thanks for the tip. I have the BBC series box set but I'd never pass one up if they came up on TV again.

One curious thing about this one was Poirot wincing and complaining about his sore feet; I was expecting a humorous side plot (a la Johnny Waverly) but it never got expanded on. Maybe they forgot. Odd thing to slip in.

Hopefully ITV won't hold out too long on the other episodes. Anyone know if the remaining episodes are in production/going to be any time soon?

I really enjoyed this one. A good adaptation. I was able to piece together many murderous parts of the jigsaw, yet a few things still eluded me - which is the most satisfying way to watch Poirot, in my opinion!

A tiny, tiny quibble would be that Ariadne was barely used, aside from serving her purpose of connecting Poirot to the case.

But yes, more lesbians...it's almost a tradition now.

The Clocks and Murder on the Orient Express have both been filmed.

After that I think there are only The Big Four, Dead Man's Folly, Elephants Can Remember and Curtain: Poirot's Last Case of the novels, plus the The Labours of Hercules (a collection of short stories, which I really don't relish...an hour focusing on a kidnapped dog? Let's hope not! ), The Lemesurier Inheritance (a short story left over from Poirot's Early Cases ) and I guess maybe Black Coffee.

I've seen all the most recent Poirot's. Seems they have been on everywhere but here. Weird.

Anyhow this one: Halloween was okay nothing special.

The Clocks was by far my favourite and I thought it was a nicely handled story.

Murder on the Orient is a dark, creepy rendition. Much spookier then the famous film version and very much has its own stamp.

Seen the 4th but can't remember it (I think it has already been on ITV).

The Clocks and Murder were by far, in my opinion, the most superior adaptations. I'd go so far as to say they were the most superior adaptations in quite a few years.

They had jolly well better bring Hastings back as it would completely destroy the whole point of the book otherwise..... Poirot and Hastings back at Styles working on one last case

Oh and in answer to a previous poster Halloween Party is already up on ITV Player

Wasn't he the solicitor? Very good he was too.

Perhaps I should have said the blonde young(ish) man who was the father of Miranda and lover of the two women. He was a bit more than the gardener in this, I suppose.:D

Have to say I really enjoyed this, totally agree though Poirot is a Sunday night programme and not during the week.

I found Muder on the Orient Express on the net and hubby and I watched it a few weeks back and loved it, much much darker than the film.

I'd agree with that. Halloween was so-so but I was convinced ITV would save it until the day itself. Murder On The Orient Express is magnificent. Surely it will be the Christmas night or Boxing Day evening big draw on ITV. Those who are more familiar with the Albert Finney movie will be blown away by this very scary version. I can see that Christie purists could be up in arms at this adaptation but I think it is possibly David Suchet's best performance yet.

It does seem odd that most countries have seen these episodes before us but I suppose ITV's cash problems have had something to do with this.

I've managed to type this without reading anything else in the thread! Hooray!

I have Skyplussed it, and will be watching on Halloween itself. After all Sunday night (not Wednesday) is Poirot night!
