I got a car on HP which a friend was using for business. The car has recently been sold on again because this 'friend' did nothing but run red lights and park illegally and all the fines came back to me. I had to pay them because she wasnt paying them and the car was in my name and I wouldve had baliffs at my door. The car has now been sold on but Im still getting letters about unpaid fines (fines she said she would pay but obviously hasnt)
On friday I had a letter from the courts saying I'd been stopped by the police but as I didnt produce my license Im now going to get 6 points on it. I dont have a license and probably never will. My friend has obviously been stopped and given my name and address because at the time the car was still registered to me. Im confused how the police allowed her to drive on when I dont have a license and my name wouldnt be in the dvla data base?? Im assuming this is what happened. I now cant get hold of my ex-friend because shes moved house and hasnt told me where shes gone. Does anyone know how I can solve this problem?
