Pointless- New quiz show on BBC2 (merged)

Did anyone watch it yesterday? I found the pair who got to the final rather amusing. The son was a little eccentric to say the least. :D

It's an interesting premise for a quiz show, although I thought it was a spoof like Numberwang at first.:o I think Alexander Armstrong is great, but there's something about his voice that means I can't take the quiz completely seriously.

They've gone for 'Indiana Jones & The Jewel Of The Nile(?)', 'Temple Of Doom' and 'The Fugitive'.

I wonder if they actually understand the rules of this show?

Like many others on this thread I'm addicted to Pointless, and will miss my daily fix!

However, there is far too much emphasis on film, entertainment etc., rather than general knowledge. Not everyone has even heard of X, let alone how many films he/she has been in, or won oscars for or had hits in the top forty.

Give me countries beginning with 'Q' every time! :D

But anybody with a bit of nous could soon find out by googling "ReRABhift Research" and finding out who their clients were. It would soon lead them to the Pointless gameshow.

If ever I got contacted out of the blue to be a random specimen I would be curious to know what is was all for.
I doubt that I would be the only one.

Long time reader, 1st time poster! I'm a massive fan of the show. I was at the Lib Dem conference so lucky for me as I didn't have to miss an episode! Regarding today's episode: the final question couldn't have been kinder to her, she's read most of the author's novels.

There were a couple of the other contestants that had been on a few other shows, mainly A Question of Genius and Goldenballs.

You claimed you couldn't remember any oscar winners because you've had babies and then you recite the entire list of characters from A MiRABummer Night's Dream which you last read when you were 11. So much for loss of memory.:D

I was very impressed (and so was Alexander by the looks of it). I was very pleased you won. Well done.:)

The new format is fine. With the choice of some obscure answers, the contestants seem to be regularly tripping themselves up when trying to go for a pointless answer, so it's working.

I thought Vince, today's male finalist looked rather like Paul Merton.

You did well Abbie :)

I also picked up that Vatican City was not included in the countries ending in the letter "y." Maybe they wanted one word countries.

I don't think they knew much about either of the 3 options but he knew Sir Gawain which he hoped was pointless. I guess the other 2 were just filler answers.
