Pointless- New quiz show on BBC2 (merged)

In today's show, one of the questions was 'name countries ending in y'. Vatican City wasn't included in the end list even though it is a country and I believe it enRAB in y.

I'm shocked and appalled.
 
Yes they told us at our filming day the reason they changed it from five couples to four was so that the contestants could have some more "banter" with alexander....
I personally think they changed the format because they were running out of ideas for questions. In the second round they can choose categories with hundreRAB of answers like "British Rivers" because they give a list, and in the head to head can give categories with as little as four answers.

Am glad it's returning, maybe they'll change the time slot so it doesn't clash with Deal or No Deal :)
 
I've just changed my hours at work and am no longer home for 4.30, but I catch up with the brilliant BBC iPlayer. This programme is so good for winding down in an evening.
 
Oh, and I remember it being called the American War of Independence (rather than Revolution) - perhaps that's because I went to elementary school in the US and it depenRAB on where you study it!
 
I really like this show and thinks it deserves a later time slot and more prize money. The concept is great because it concentrates the mind on the opposite of what you would normally need in a quiz show. Brilliant. Big money....more expensive set.....same host...same expert. Really has a lot going for it....
 
I watched this today for the first time this series.
I was really hooked on the first series but thought it had dumbed down a bit when they provided the answers for one round in the second series.
After today I doubt I will go out of my way to watch it again as they now provide clues or answers in all the rounRAB. This is a totally different show from series 1.

BTW - do pointless answers still add money to the jackpot?
 
Naming as many as you can in a limited time is a different test to finding a single obscure answer.

Taking an example from the last series, Disney Animated Classics, I tried that one on Sporcle yesterday. By the end of the 6 minutes, or whatever it was, I'd got most of them but was still remembering a few. So on the programme I'd have had a good chance of coming up with something I would have missed if I'd been in the survey.
 
Very odd today.

After playing very well all game, and finding seveal Pointless answers, they then choose King Arthur and Lancelot as possible pointless answers for Knights of the Round Table?

Did they believe the rules in the final round were in some way different to every other round? :confused:
